every major structural social problem right now is basically “we don’t have enough skilled workers on the ground” and the reason is always “well we’ve been intentionally underpaying and understaffng them for decades to increase corporate profits” and somehow the news always just mentions the “shortage” without digging into the cause
air travel is a mess? shortage of air traffic controllers - for some mysterious reason
logistics a mess? shortage of truck drivers - for some mysterious reason
public transit can’t meet demand? shortage of bus drivers - for some mysterious reason
We even mysteriously have shortages of doctors, nurses, teachers… FOR SOME MYSTERIOUS REASON

No but is it clocking to y’all that not only is One Piece on track to becoming one of if not the #1 most sold piece of fiction to the point where its number of copies sold may one day rival that of THE BIBLE, but on top of that Oda is quite literally rewriting the book of revelations and making it more engaging, more philosophical and thematically relevant to the world we live in today??!
Been losing my mind thinking about how if Loki joins the straw hats, Franky and Jimbei will no longer be the Biggest Boys in the crew and can be picked up and tossed around by Loki just as easily as any of the others and idk, I just love the idea of these big burly middle-aged men getting to feel all small and dainty for the first time in their lives 😌✨
But ALSO losing my mind because literally what’s to stop Loki from doing this with Franky and Jimbei (or anyone else for that matter) were the thought to cross his mind?! :
I think more media should narratively punish parents for not listening to their kids and specifically I think it should punish them in cruel and terrifying ways. I want real life parents to go through life with a healthy fear that if they ignore their children’s boundaries a witch might cook and eat them
